ROANOKE, Va. — Member One Federal Credit Union presented a $1,000 check to Lake Christian Ministries. The donation was a result of Member One’s quarterly Denim Days for Charities event, where employees donate money in exchange for wearing jeans on a specific day.
“Lake Christian Ministries has such a positive impact by filling a critical need in the communities they serve and delivering much-needed services,” remarked Jessica Clarkson, VP-market relationship manager at Member One. “Our employees are proud to support an organization that’s doing so much good in our community.”
Lake Christian Ministries provides food, crisis-financial aid, clothing, and other essential household items to low-income individuals and families who are experiencing unemployment, illness, family disruptions, or other unexpected occurrences.
“Lake Christian Ministries is truly grateful for the support of Member One employees. This generous donation will support our programs and services that impact poverty in the Smith Mountain Lake area,” said Janes Winters, Lake Christian Ministries executive director. “During the holiday season, the need for support increases significantly—this donation could not have come to us at a better time!”
