Member One FCU Supports Hospital

ROANOKE, Va.–Member One FCU recently donated a variety of items to Carilion Children’s Hospital and the Centra Health Pediatric Unit in Lynchburg to brighten the day for children who were in the hospital during the Easter holiday.

Member One employees raised more than $1,200 to purchase toys, books, stuffed animals, and games. The items were donated in person by Member One employees to young patients ranging in age from one week to 17 years. The donations were also used to purchase items for the teen room and Toddler Zone at Carilion Children’s Hospital.

Member One previously partnered with Carilion Children’s to help fund renovation of the playrooms designed to provide comfort and entertainment for young patients.

Member One said it is a community-focused credit union that regularly contributes financially and with volunteer time throughout its footprint. Donating to local hospitals on Easter has become an annual way to give back that brings joy to employees and children alike.

Employees at Carilion Children’s Hospital were grateful for the donations. They have been experiencing high patient volumes, and this helped ensure every patient received a treat on Easter day.

“The look of excitement on the children’s faces when we delivered the donations to the Carilion Children’s Hospital was unforgettable,” said Andrea Milliron, Member One’s VP-market relationship manager.
