ROANOKE, Va.–Member One Federal Credit Union assisted two local schools in Member One's annual Pens, Paper, & Promise school supply drive.
Member One employees donated 22 boxes worth of school supplies, and donations were delivered to two Roanoke City Schools, Fallon Park Elementary School and Stonewall Jackson Middle School.
“Member One’s employees are so loyal to the communities we serve. The items we donated to local schools on behalf of our employees will impact so many local school children and prepare them for the upcoming school year,” Andrea Milliron, VP-Community/Business Development at Member One said.
Increasing costs for school supplies often strain family budgets. According to a 2014 report by the National Retail Federation, parents can expect to pay an average of $101.18 per child on school supplies each year, the credit union noted.
