Mazuma Credit Union Announces New Branch Location in Development with Reconciliation Services

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--Mazuma Credit Union’s President and CEO, Deonne Christensen, announced that the credit union will open a new location “in the heart of Kansas City’s east side” in 2026.

Christensen delivered the news to an enthusiastic crowd during Reconciliation Services’ third annual Hike for Reconciliation event on Saturday, November 8th.

Mazuma has partnered for several years with Reconciliation Services, a Kansas City non-profit that addresses the root causes of poverty and trauma, Christensen remarked, including through volunteer engagement, a donation to the capital campaign that helped fund the renovation of the organization’s headquarters, and grants from the Mazuma Foundation. Now, the two are “taking (their) relationship to the next level” through the development of the credit union’s newest branch location in the RS Impact Exchange building, which is owned by Reconciliation Services and sits across the street from its headquarters at 31st and Troost.

“We are looking forward to serving you, our Members and new Members, right here in the heart of Kansas City,” Christensen said. “We feel honored to deepen our partnership with Reconciliation Services and work together to serve this community that we love in innovative new ways.” Noting that credit unions’ purpose is to provide accessible financial products and services to the communities that they serve, Christensen expressed excitement about the possibilities this partnership creates to contribute to the financial well-being of this vibrant and important neighborhood.
