Martin Named VP-Community and Government Relations at RCU

SANTA ROSA, Calif. —Matt Martin has joined Redwood Credit Union (RCU) as vice president of community and government relations.

Martin will oversee the Credit Union’s community outreach programs; the RCU Community Fund (RCUCF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fund which supports the Credit Union’s free financial literacy, education and wellness programs, as well as local disaster relief efforts; and RCU’s government relations and credit union advocacy efforts. Martin will also oversee a staff of 4. He’ll be instrumental in further enhancing RCU’s comprehensive community programs in in the counties RCU serves, including Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Mendocino, and San Francisco. He will also represent credit union issues before local, state and federal government representatives and supporting RCU’s mission to passionately serve the best interests of Members, employees and communities.

Previously, Martin served as chief executive officer of Social Advocates for Youth (SAY), an organization that helps at-risk youth with housing, counseling, and career training. Before joining SAY, he served as director of operations for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Petaluma.  Martin is a graduate of Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
