MANCHESTER, N.H.–New Hampshire’s credit unions were treated to special sweets/treats and personal expressions of gratitude from Wish children from Make-A-Wish New Hanpshire. “Every year, all of our New Hampshire credit unions look forward to their Sweet Thank You visit. Being a partner with Make-A-Wish New Hampshire is extremely rewarding for credit union staff and members. We love when the kids tell us about their wishes; the memories they share with us symbolize the power of what a wish can do,” said Brian Hughes, chair of the New Hampshire Credit Unions Social Responsibility Committee and president/CEO, Holy Rosary Credit Union. “The collaboration of the New Hampshire Credit Unions over the past 22 years truly shows the spirit of community and we are very proud to play a big role in granting wishes for these wonderful kids donating more than $2.7 million for wishes.”
Added Julie Baron, president/CEO of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, “This is one of my favorite weeks of the year as I love having the opportunity to thank the credit unions for their life changing support,” said Baron. “It is so inspiring to watch the faces of credit union staff members as they interact with Wish Children and learn firsthand the impact they are having on a child. Thank you to all the credit unions across New Hampshire for choosing to transform lives one child at a time. We are so grateful.”
Wish Child Scott, 11, shared the adventures of his wish, a trip to the Disney Theme Parks, with the staff at Precision Credit Union in Keene. His favorite thing was the Simpsons amusement ride at Universal. Carrying in a big tray of homemade chocolate chip cookies and valentine’s day thank you card, Scott and his family were ever so grateful to all the New Hampshire Credit Unions for making children’s wishes such as Scott’s come true. During the visit Scott’s mom Ericka said, “The family time away was wonderful, it was a week of no stress, no medication and instead fun and laughter for us all.
