LAWRENCE, Mass.–Several Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU) team members partnered with Neighbors in Need to help distribute food to more than 240 community members at the Lawrence Boys & Girls Club.
Neighbors In Need is a Lawrence-based organization that operates six food pantries in Lawrence, Methuen and Andover. The organization’s Holiday Meal Program provides Thanksgiving and holiday meals to local food pantry families and other families referred to Neighbors in Need by area social workers and partner organizations. Last year, Neighbors in Need distributed over 500,000 meals and gave food to 5,000 families and 10,000 individuals, the credit union said.
Merrimack Valley Regional Manager Julie Brady has been involved in Neighbors in Need for more than 15 years and currently serves on the organization’s advisory board. The credit union also donated 200 reusable shopping bags for community members to carry their food with ease.
