EAST LANSING, Mich.—More than 1,000 community members attended MSU Federal Credit Union's annual Kids' Day on July 18, as the credit union transformed its headquarters into an indoor summer camp focused on financial education and family activities.
The three-hour event combined lessons on saving, budgeting and smart spending with interactive exhibits, games and entertainment led by MSUFCU staff and community partners. Activities included STEM demonstrations, crafts, a Touch-a-Truck display, live performances and appearances by local mascots.
"MSUFCU's Kids' Day is about creating meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity and confidence," said Arianna Ridderbusch, vice president of community impact at MSUFCU. "Whether they're exploring STEM activities, meeting community partners, or learning about saving and spending, every activity is designed to help kids grow while having fun."
The event also featured a dedicated sensory space designed to make the experience more accessible for children and families. The quiet area included low lighting, soothing music, soft seating and sensory toys, providing a retreat from the larger activities while reinforcing the credit union's focus on creating an inclusive community event.
