BALTIMORE–MECU last week participated in America Saves Week. America Saves Week is a national effort to motivate, encourage, and support low-to-moderate income households to save money, reduce debt, and build wealth. MECU said it used the opportunity to encourage and assist members in improving their financial futures through its Save Your Way campaign, offering increased savings, easier money management, and a chance to win $1,000 with the Save Your Way Sweepstakes.
“We cannot stress enough the importance of setting a savings goal and making a plan to achieve that goal,” said John Hamilton, MECU president and CEO. “America Saves Week is a great opportunity to help our community members set a goal, create a plan, and make saving an automatic part of their daily lives.”
Through its Save Your Way campaign, MECU is providing special savings offers to members through March 31 on select CD and money market accounts.
For an extra savings boost, members who deposit $25 or more into a qualifying account will be automatically entered into the company’s 2019 Save Your Way Sweepstakes. One winner will be randomly selected to win $100 each month during the promotion, and one grand prize winner will be randomly selected to win $1,000 after the conclusion of the promotion on March 31.
