NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Langley for Families Foundation donated $5,000 to Literacy for Life in support of their literacy services designed to help community members function more effectively. The donation will help more than 750 adults to gain life-changing skills necessary as they strive toward independence and new opportunities.
"Literacy for Life improves lives by teaching adults the literacy skills required for self-sufficiency, better health, and meaningful participation in society," stated Literacy for Life Executive Director Joan Peterson. "Langley for Families' gift of $5,000 helps our learners find better jobs, earn their GEDs, actively participate in their children's education and become more involved in our community."
