Langley FCU Names Blake Newman CFO

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—Langley Federal Credit Union has appointed Blake Newman as chief financial officer, bringing aboard an executive with more than 15 years of credit union financial management experience focused on balance sheet strategy, capital markets and risk management.

Most recently, Newman served as vice president of treasury and asset liability management at Wright-Patt Credit Union, where he managed a $2-billion investment portfolio and led initiatives tied to hedging, liquidity management and pricing strategy. Langley FCU President and CEO Gaurav Bhatia said Newman’s experience at a nearly $10-billion credit union aligns with Langley’s growth objectives and long-term financial strategy.

As CFO, Newman will oversee Langley FCU’s treasury, investment management, financial planning and analysis, enterprise risk oversight, legal and compliance functions. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned graduate and undergraduate economics degrees from Ohio University and Ohio State University, respectively.
