NEWPORT NEWS, VA -The 2nd Annual Langley for Families Charity Golf Classic raised more than $238,000 thanks to the generosity of many sponsors and donors, according to Langley FCU. LFCU said 124 golfers enjoyed a day at the Kingsmill Resort River Course in Williamsburg, Va. to raise awareness and money for local Hampton Roads family charities.
"This charity golf event is fast becoming one of the premier fundraisers in Hampton Roads" said Foundation Chairperson Marilyn Kuhn. "We cannot thank the sponsors and donors enough for their support. We look forward to this event each year and hope to continue building on its success."
WVEC Sports Anchor Scott Cash Emceed the event. Two impressive trips were awarded during a Shoot Out round, which included an all-expense paid trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to play in the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic and a trip to Scotland.
