LONG BEACH, Calif.– LBS Financial Credit Union employees donated over 200 toys, gifts, and clothing to the Long Beach Police Foundation’s annual Toy Patrol Holiday Drive at The Grand in Long Beach during their annual holiday breakfast.
Every year, LBS Financial hosts an employee holiday breakfast at an offsite location. The credit union selected the Long Beach Police Foundation’s Toy Patrol for this year’s employee gift donation hoping to make a positive difference in the lives of these children during the holidays. In previous years, LBS Financial employees donated toys and gifts to the Long Beach Rescue Mission, United States Marines’ Toys for Tots Foundation, Miller Children’s Hospital, Comprehensive Child Development, Long Beach Day Nursery, Children Today, Project Shepherd, the Needy Family Project in Cerritos, Young Horizons, and the WomensShelter of Long Beach.
Approximately 200 LBS Financial employees attended this year’s breakfast, most bringing one or more unwrapped gifts for the Toy Patrol. Long Beach Police Chief, Robert Luna; the Police Department’s Community Engagement Administrator, Karen Owens; Long Beach Police Foundation Board President, Bruce DD Mac Rae; and Long Beach Police Foundation Administrative Director, Anjelica Vargas, attended the Credit Union’s holiday breakfast to accept the donation.
Long Beach Police and Long Beach Firefighters worked together on their Toy Patrol drive this year to hand out gifts to over 1,000 children prior to the Christmas holiday.
"We were so grateful for the opportunity to partner with LBS Financial Credit Union at their annual employee breakfast,” stated Chief of Police Robert Luna. “The toys and gifts generously donated by their employees truly exemplify the spirit of the season and provided the Police Department the opportunity to positively engage with the youth in our community.”
