The Woman of the Year award recognizes a member who embodies the mission of ABWA and has made a notable contribution to its success. Comments from a few of the nomination forms highlight the reasons behind Rolls’ nomination:

  • Julie has a volunteer’s heart and the skills to go with it.
  • She is willing to organize, volunteer and help initiate change when needed.
  • She regularly invites guests and brings her young daughter to meetings and events, showing that she values the ABWA organization and wants to pass its values and educational opportunities to others and the next generation.

Roll has been active in ABWA since she joined it in 2010. She has led programs and worked on nearly every committee, such as audit and nominating, ways and means, and newsletter. She currently serves as chapter secretary on the executive board.
