LAFCU Promotes Jones to VP of Human Resources

LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU has promoted Robyn Jones to vice president of human resources.

As vice president of human resources, Jones is responsible for developing, implementing and administering personnel policies and procedures; overseeing training and development, benefits administration, payroll and recruiting; and assisting with employee and union relations, among other responsibilities, the CU said.

Jones said, “Human resources provides the enviable opportunity to be the business of helping people and promoting positive change throughout the organization. Employees are our greatest asset. Taking care of them professionally and holistically empowers them to be their best and helps them provide an excellent membership experience with every encounter.”

Jones was hired as human resources manager in 2017. She recently succeeded Sharon Gillison who retired after a 47-year career with LAFCU.

Prior to joining LAFCU, Jones was a human resources manager for Dakkota Integrated Systems LLC, a Tier One supplier to Detroit automakers with locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. She worked for Dakkota’s two Holt plants that have a combined employment of 250.

Jones holds bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and black studies, and graduated with honors. During summer breaks from college, she was a human resources intern at American Greetings Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio. She is native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
