GLENDALE, Calif.–LAFCU employees donned purple clothing to support International Women’s Day. International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
The first gathering of IWD was in 1911 and was supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. Today IWD is celebrated worldwide in multiple countries and across all continents. This year’s theme is “Balance for Better” because a balanced world is a better world, the credit union noted.
