GLENDALE, Calif. –In the spirit of holiday giving, Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) recently donated gifts to the Glendale Fire Department (Station 21) for their 24th Annual Spark of Love Toy Drive.
Sponsored by ABC-7 television and Southern California Firefighters, the Spark of Love Toy Drive collects new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment then distributes them to underserved children and teens in the local community. Some of the donated toys included bikes, dolls, superhero figures, and toy cars and trucks.
In addition, LAFCU participated in the Glendale Fire Department’s Family Holiday Program, which coordinates with community agencies to identify low-income families who need toys during the holiday season. This year a deserving family was presented with specific requested toys. The family of three boys, ages 4, 13, and 16, requested and received a firetruck, art supplies, and Nike sports shoes, respectively. With the credit union’s help, the boys were able to celebrate and experience all the joys that come with the season.
