LOS ANGELES –To give back during the holidays, Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) donated bikes, dolls and toys to the Spark of Love Toy Drive and the Glendale Firefighters Association Holiday Family Program. The credit union contributed three bikes, four dolls, a Razor scooter, a Disney puzzle pack, and other toys to the Spark of Love Toy Drive, which annually collects new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment to local children and teens in need. Sponsored by KABC TV channel 7 and Southern California Firefighters, the 23-year-old fundraiser donated more than 500,000 toys to local underserved children in its prior year.
In addition, LAFCU contributed specific requested toys to the Glendale Firefighters Association (GFA) Holiday Program, which coordinates with community agencies to identify low-income families who need toys in December. Every year, each department within Glendale Fire, along with each engine, truck and basic life support ambulance, adopt a local family and purchase a specific toy or household need requested by the family. Items include clothing, shoes, movies, video games, dolls and sports equipment.
