LAFCU Celebrates Employees' Kids' Graduations

GLENDALE, Calif.–– With graduations being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) decided to host a graduation ceremony for the children of LAFCU employees graduating in 2020. The ceremony was held at the credit union’s Glendale Branch and hosted by Richard Lie, LAFCU’s president/CEO.

Six students were honored, with three graduating from SoCal high schools, including Burbank High School, Workman High School, and Orange Lutheran High School, one from Chime Charter Middle School, and two college students graduating from UCLA.

The honorees were greeted by a video screen displaying photos of each graduate dressed in their graduation attire. The honorees were also treated to an assortment of take-home breakfast boxes consisting of breakfast burritos, lox, continental breakfast, scrambled eggs and a variety of drinks. Lie kicked off the ceremony by delivering a congratulatory speech to the graduates, who sat alongside their parents, with all in attendance wearing face masks and following social-distancing rules. Lie then called up each graduate to highlight their educational accomplishments and talents then presented each graduate with a gift bag full of goodies.

Due to COVID-19, the ceremony was kept brief and Lie concluded the occasion by wishing the graduates continued success in their educational and professional careers.
