WALNUT CREEK, Calif.–Kaiperm Diablo Federal Credit Union has purchased 22,000-square-foot building in the Shadelands development here. The credit union was established in 1957 by Kaiser Permanente employees as a benefit for its employees and their families.
“We want to make sure you are financially healthy,” said Kaiperm Diablo FCU CEO, Karen Introcaso. “We want to provide our members with financial wellness and peace of mind, the way Kaiser Permanente strives to provide health, wellness and peace of mind to their patients.”
Kaiperm Diablo FCU is building a 6,000-square-foot facility in Shadelands, which is targeted to open in May of 2019. Design has begun on an enhanced lobby and branch experience, as well as a training room and education center.
Seminars on retirement, home purchasing, investing and topics related to financial empowerment, will be offered to members for free. The branch plans to be open six days a week and offer free parking.
“We are so excited to be on campus and walking distance for our members,” said Introcaso. “This summer we’ll be setting up a table during the Farmers Market on Saturdays, and once we open the new branch, we’ll have a 24-hour ATM that is free to all credit union CO-OP members to use.”
