MIAMI LAKES, Fla.– JetStream Federal Credit Union has once again partnered with the CFT (Center for Financial Training) and Miami Dade College for the annual Future Bankers’ Camp Program. This program provides a hands-on experience for high school students interested in careers in the financial industry.
The program includes a two-week educational track at Miami Dade College and a two week internship at a financial institution. The educational track includes Teller and Customer Service training. The last two weeks are spent learning and working in a financial institution. After successful completion of the program, the students receive the ABA Bank Teller and Customer Service Rep Certificates followed by a graduation ceremony.
“We had a delightful group of interns this year and it was a pleasure getting to know them,” said Jeanne Kucey, JetStream’s CEO and CFT board member. “The internship portion of the program offers the students a wonderful opportunity to learn how a real financial institution works.”
Davena Ellis, JetStream’s employee development specialist who coordinated the interns schedule stated, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. I was honored to positively affect change in the lives of our young people, while simultaneously doing the same within the financial sector.”
