JetStream FCU Participates in Job Shadow Day

MIAMI LAKES, Fla.–JetStream Federal Credit Union participated in the Annual Job Shadow Day with Miami Dade County Public Schools.

Job Shadowing is a nationwide effort where students spend one school day exploring careers by shadowing business professionals. Students from Barbara Goleman High School’s Academy of Finance went to JetStream’s headquarters and were first given an introduction about credit unions and how they operate.  They met with Jeanne Kucey to gain a CEO’s perspective of running a credit union, and John Frearson, chief financial officer, who explained the various financial reports.

The students were then able to interact and “shadow” employees from several departments including lending, accounting, care center, IT and collections.

“This program offers businesses the opportunity to share knowledge and skills with possibly their future workforce” said Davena Ellis, employee development specialist for JetStream.
