MIAMI LAKES, Fla.–JetStream Federal Credit Union announced it has become the first credit union in the State of Florida to receive the Juntos Avanzamos Credit Union (Together we Advance) designation. The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions recognizes credit unions committed to serving and empowering Hispanic consumers with the Juntos Avanzamos designation.
The credit union said that among those who can testify to JetStream’s commitment is Ozzi Muniz, at right, a popular Spanish language radio personality in South Florida with a daily show on TU94.9. He has been a member of JetStream Federal for many years and remembers when he first found the credit union.
“I was looking to buy a used car; I was young and didn’t have much credit. But, everywhere I went the banks were charging me very high rates or said that I didn’t qualify for an auto loan,” Muniz said. “ A friend told me about his credit union; and how they had helped him many times. When I arrived at JetStream Federal the staff and especially the manager, Carmen Garcia; were very helpful and explained in detail my various options. They were able to offer me a loan payment I could afford at a good rate. My experience with JetStream was fantastic, I felt like part of the family and I will never forget them for taking care of me when I needed them the most. After this experience, I have financed several other vehicles with JetStream.”
A ceremony to commemorate the designation will be held in conjunction with JetStream’s new Doral branch Grand Opening on March 8th, 2017.
