WASHINGTON – The Metropolitan Area Credit Union Management Association (MACUMA) of greater Washington, D.C. announced the recipient of its 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award: James Arrington, Board Member at Transit Employees’ FCU.
At its Annual Leadership Conference in Cambridge, Md., MACUMA celebrated Arrington’s significant accomplishments and his long journey from bus driver to volunteer, to board member and part-time employee – while still working full time at DC Transit. Arrington eventually became a full-time employee at TEFCU, where he served in the unique dual role of employee and director.
Arrington was instrumental in helping create Prince Hall Family FCU and served on its Board. He also served as an officer on the D.C. League Board and the MACUMA Board of Directors. Through his many roles, Mr. Arrington became a convincing advocate for credit unions and his influence continues today.
