Innovations Financial CU Promotes McLane, Smiley to Director Roles

PANAMA CITY, Fla.—Innovations Financial Credit Union has announced the promotions of Kristie McLane to director of retail and Jon Smiley to director of business lending, expanding its leadership team with two executives who will oversee key consumer and commercial banking operations.

McLane, who joined the credit union in January 2025 as director of community business development, will now oversee retail operations across the branch network, including branch performance, consumer lending, deposit growth, member experience and retail service initiatives. With more than 15 years of financial services experience, McLane has a background in relationship building, consumer banking, business development and community engagement. "Kristie has a natural ability to connect with people and build strong relationships," said David Powell, senior vice president and chief operating officer. President and CEO Scott Gladden added that McLane's "member-first mindset" and leadership will continue to strengthen the credit union's retail operations.

Smiley, who has served as business lending manager since joining Innovations three years ago, was promoted to director of business lending. He brings more than 20 years of lending and financial services experience to the role, where he will lead the credit union's commercial lending strategy, oversee business lending operations and continue working with Northwest Florida businesses on financing and banking solutions. Powell said Smiley has earned a reputation for "putting business owners first and finding solutions that help them succeed," while Gladden credited him with playing an instrumental role in the growth of the credit union's business lending program.

The promotions reflect Innovations Financial's continued investment in strengthening both its retail and commercial banking operations as it expands services for consumers and business members. McLane will focus on enhancing the member experience and supporting branch growth, while Smiley will continue building commercial relationships and helping local businesses access the financing needed to grow and succeed.
