Ideal CU's MN Brain Tumor 5K Sets Record

WOODBURY, Minn.-- The MN Brain Tumor 5K, supported by the Ideal CU Community Foundation, has set a new record with 1,700 participating to help raise $143,000 with collected and promised donations. The annual 5K was held at Lake Phalen in St. Paul. All proceeds benefit the Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor Research & Information, Inc.

For the past five years, the Ideal Community Foundation has provided monetary and volunteer support to the event. The 5K is dedicated to those who have lost the battle with brain tumors, the loved ones left behind, the courageous people who have been diagnosed with and are fighting a brain tumor, their family, friends and caregivers, and the researchers who strive for better treatments and a cure.

“This year’s 5K exceeded all expectations and I applaud the organizers and participants for making it a huge success,” said Brian Sherrick, Ideal CU President/CEO and Ideal Community Foundation chairman. “Many of us have been touched by this disease, or know someone who has. The chance to raise much needed funds to find a cure is a cause we all share. I am grateful to our employees for volunteering their time to help at such an important event and thank all of the participants for their selfless generosity.”
