TUCSON, Ariz.–Hughes Federal Credit Union reported it has hit the 100,000 member-owner mark, after seeing their membership rate double in size since 2009 due to their progressive member-only rates.
To celebrate this important milestone, the 100,000th member-owner, Maria Reyes, was presented a $1,000 check when she opened a new account at Hughes’ Wetmore branch.
“The loyalty and support of our members helped us reach this important milestone and achieve strong growth despite a challenging economic period,” said John R. Sansbury, chairman of the board. “We want to thank our members and the community for their loyalty and support, which enhances our ability to provide the best possible savings and loan rates to our members while helping to boost the local economy.”
Hughes, which was established in 1952, will also be marking the milestone by giving away 100 prizes from August 8-19, 2016, Mondays-Friday via its Facebook page at Facebook.com/HughesFCU.
The CU’s spokesperson, University of Arizona coach Sean Miller is also joining in the celebration of the 100,000th member-owner. His message can be found here.
