NORTH GRAFTON, Mass. – Homefield Credit Union held two home buying seminars at local area breweries.
During its first, Alycia Straughn, AVP-market manager/mortgage loan officer, hosted Hops & Homes at Purgatory Beer Company in Whitinsville. During its second, Doug Lanzillo, VP-market manager/mortgage loan officer, hosted the Hops & Homes event at Redemption Rock Brewery in Worcester. Both events were well attended with those in attendance looking for guidance on buying their first home, the credit union said.
Homefield Credit Union Home Buyer said its events are co-hosted by a panel of industry experts including attorneys, realtors, home inspectors, and insurance agents. Having all of these resources on hand, ready to answer questions and offer assistance, has proven to alleviate much of the stress for those contemplating what could be the biggest financial decision in their life, the CU said.
Topics discussed at these recent events included prequalifying; finding and buying the right home; negotiating an offer; applying for the right mortgage; down payment options; and the importance of a home inspection.
