BOSTON–Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation, and Massachusetts General Hospital Program, announced during the official kick-off meeting of the sixth annual Mission: Gratitude gala that Hanscom Federal Credit Union (FCU) will be its presenting sponsor of the gala, following a $125,000 donation through the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation to the organization.
Home Base, which was founded in 2009, is a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. Home Base is the first and largest private-sector clinic in the nation, leading regional and national efforts with a multi-disciplinary team of experts who work together to help service members, veterans, and their families heal from the invisible wounds of traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, and related conditions.
"The generosity of groups like the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation enable Home Base to continue providing the critical resources we need to provide life-changing programs at no cost to those we serve," said Home Base’s Executive Director Brigadier General (Ret.) Jack Hammond. "Mission: Gratitude is an important evening where we take the time to recognize the efforts of those who have gone above and beyond supporting the needs of our nation’s Military. We're grateful for the foundation’s support and belief in our work."
Hanscom FCU, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, has supported Home Base and Mission: Gratitude for the past four years through its foundation.
“Our credit union has a lengthy commitment of supporting active military, veterans, and their families,” said Teresa Conrad, Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation’s Chairwoman. “I’m thrilled we have this opportunity to lend further support to Home Base’s mission to heal the invisible wounds, which aligns with that of our foundation. We appreciate that the proceeds from this event directly fund the care provided at no cost to our nation’s veterans through Home Base. Our charitable foundation also sends 100% of donations directly to beneficiaries, taking nothing out to cover administration costs.”
