Hanscom FCU Donates to VA System

HANSCOM AFB, Mass.–Hanscom Federal Credit Union donated $1,000 worth of new toiletries, clothing, and personal care items to the VA Boston Healthcare System on the Brockton campus. The Brockton VA Medical Center offers both short- and long-term care to veterans, including rehabilitation, medical, psychiatric, and hospice care.

The donation continues the credit union’s ongoing commitment to supporting the health and welfare of our nation’s active duty service members and veterans.

“We’re proud to be able to help support the care of these veterans who have given so much already,” said HFCU Chair Ray Phillips. “We hope these items will make their hospital stay more comfortable and show them that we continue to appreciate their sacrifices.”

Items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, socks, shoes, and undergarments are appreciated by patients at the hospital, who often find it difficult to obtain the personal care items they need during their stay. Clothing items, in particular, are highly sought after by the Brockton VA Medical Center as they are infrequently donated, the credit union said.
