DORCHESTER, Mass.–Hanscom Federal Credit Union celebrated the opening of its 22ndbranch here. The grand opening was held in the new branch and was attended by members of Hanscom FCU’s board, employees, special guests, and members of the community.
“We’re very excited by all of the growth in this area and in Dorchester as a whole, and especially to be a part of it,” said Ray Phillips, Hanscom FCU’s chairman. “Many hours were devoted to finding the perfect location to reach as many of our local members as possible, and South Bay Center provides the exact convenience and atmosphere we had been searching for. We’re happy to be joining and serving this vibrant community. ”
The branch is part of South Bay Center, the latest addition to Dorchester’s growing pedestrian-friendly shopping and entertainment district. This commercial center is home to a variety of businesses ranging from popular retailers and dining establishments to new apartments and open community space, and is part of a multi-phase enhancement project for the larger shopping district.
