ROCHESTER, N.H.–HRCU has announced a record 14 recipients for its 2024 HRCU Annual Scholarship.
The group of recipients, including a valedictorian and founder of a local Big Buddy program, National Honor Society members, student-athletes and musicians, were recognized at an event featuring HRCU staff and Board Chairman Dana Flanders.
“Since 1996, the HRCU Annual Scholarship has been established to give a helping hand to deserving young members. This year was no different with a number of strong candidates applying,” HRCU President and CEO Brian Hughes said in a statement. “We are proud to be part of a community filled with so many dedicated students and are more than happy to award and celebrate our members on the next step in their educational journey.”
The $1,000 scholarships were presented to recipients in four award categories, including high school or college students, employee children and participants of the HRCU Banking and Financial Services Program at the R.W. Creteau Regional Technology Center.
“We are proud of this year’s recipients and all their achievements, both academically and the commitment they have to the community,” said Board Chairman Dana Flanders. “We wish these young members the best as they continue to excel in their academic journey.”
To have been eligible, applicants must have been HRCU members, met a set GPA requirement and had been accepted at or attending an accredited college or university.
HRCU said it has awarded 278 scholarships totaling $280,000 since the program’s inception.
