NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa–The City of North Liberty has received a $25,000 contribution from GreenState Credit Union in support of Building North Liberty’s Next Stage campaign.
According to the credit union, its pledge helped the city to secure a $900,000 Community Attraction & Tourism grant from the Enhance Iowa Board. The state grant favors projects that have local business and individual buy-in.
“GreenState is excited to participate and build momentum for this project,” Chief Markeing Officer Jim Kelly said in a statement. “As long-standing members of this community ourselves, we see the value it will bring to families throughout the entire corridor.”
The capital campaign will enhance Centennial Park with a new amphitheater, indoor event space, pavilion, splash pad, shelters, restrooms, and an honor garden to recognize Iowa’s service men and women.
The improvements will be constructed in four phases. The first and largest phase at $8.8 million will break ground summer 2024 with completion in 2025, according to the credit union.
