Greater Texas CU Donates Funds for Relief Efforts

AUSTIN, Texas– Greater Texas Credit Union raised $21,570 through employee and member fundraising, which was then matched by the credit union and presented by check to the American Red Cross to support their Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts.  

In response to Hurricane Harvey’s devastation, Greater Texas Credit Union coordinated a fundraising drive at all 19 locations to support those directly impacted along the coastline and across the state, showing solidarity and support fellow to Texans. The credit union also accepted food items at locations across Texas that was then sent to the local food banks.

“The reports, images, and first-hand accounts of Harvey’s property destruction and impact on the lives of our fellow Texans is overwhelming.  Greater Texas Credit Union members and employees really stepped-up their giving, and we are very pleased to do our part to help meet the needs of those impacted by the storm.  Our thoughts and prayers continue for folks affected by Hurricane Harvey, as well as those impacted by the recent flurry of hurricane activity in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico,” said Greater Texas President & CEO Howard Baker.  “It’s what we do:  people helping people.”
