Great Lakes Performs Acts of Kindness

BANNOCKBURN, Ill.–Nora Sanchez, the manager of Great Lakes Credit Union’s Antioch Branch, and her team visited Ultimate Car Wash & Detailing in Antioch, Ill., and surprised 16 patrons with free washes compliments of GLCU.

“I know paying for someone’s car wash seems like a small gesture, but everyone who received their free car wash on Friday were beyond grateful. It was reminder that sometimes the little things really do make a big difference. It definitely made my day, and we all look forward to doing something similar again soon,” Sanchez said.

All year long employees at GLCU branches are performing various random acts of kindness as a way to make a direct impact and give back to their communities.

Separately, Kelly Golemba, GLCU’s Woodstock Branch Manager, and her team donated $500 to support the Hooved Animal Humane Society’s (HAHS) 45th Anniversary Fundraiser.

The HAHS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of hooved animals through education, legislation, investigation, and if necessary, intervention.

When asked about the Random Acts of Kindness initiative Golemba said, “My team and I always look forward to supporting our community. We are especially pleased to work with groups that have such wide-reaching impact. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to such an incredible organization. The Hooved Animal Humane Society does a phenomenal job of protecting our hooved pals and educating the community. I hope their online auction is a success!”
