BANNOCKBURN, Ill.–Great Lakes Credit Union celebrated International Credit Union Day with festivities that included refreshments and a range of Random Acts of Kindness conducted by GLCU employees throughout all of the credit union’s 14 branches. More than 420 people who visited a GLCU branch were greeted with a token of appreciation such as flowers, donuts, popcorn, pizza, gift cards to restaurants and coffee shops, and more!
“We had so much fun! One member, Elsa S. stopped in to withdraw money for lunch; we asked her to save her money and have lunch with us, and she did,” said Kelly Golemba of GLCU’s Woodstock branch. “She stayed her entire lunch hour and through conversation we discovered she was looking for a financial planner. We connected her with the Tranel Financial Group, our financial advisors. We really enjoyed our chat, but most of all we were happy we could help Elsa – it’s what we’re all about.”
