BANNOCKBURN, Ill.– Great Lakes Credit Union employee Jeannine Folan has received her HUD Certification.“I started in the financial stability field in Wisconsin in 2008 and this certification allows me to continue that important work. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have an impact on and lift up the residents of Illinois and Wisconsin through financial counseling and education,” said Folan, a Housing Counselor. HUD Certifications are given out after a counselor completes and passes a rigorous written exam issued by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. GLCU is among six credit unions in the nation that offers a HUD Certified counseling program, the CU said. “Great Lakes Credit Union continues to support the diversity in our communities and continues to focus on the well-being of all residents regardless of membership with the credit union. Our efforts to onboard new counselors, such as Jeannine, allows expanded reach of our programming. We knew that with Jeannine’s prior experiences and skills she would achieve her certification and I am extremely proud of her accomplishment. Her desire to improve the financial well-bring of her clients showcases her true commitment in serving those that need counseling services,” said Steven Bugg, President and CEO.
