BANNOCKBURN, Ill.–– Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) said its employees continue to perform random acts of kindness. Among their various acts:
- Zion branch employees handed out $5 coupons for the Brat Shop, a local food vendor, during Nostalgia Days.
- Crystal Lake employees visited Kaleidoscopes Ice Cream, Sports & Gifts and surprised customers by purchasing their orders.
- Naperville employees donated clothes, kitchen utensils, shampoo and more to the Second Chance Resale Shop. The Second Chance Resale Shop is owned by the Family Shelter Service, which provides help to victims of domestic violence and their families.
- Bolingbrook employees supplied the Goodwill Mission and Friends of the Fountaindale Public Library with 205 books. Melissa Stroud, Bolingbrook Branch Manager, commented, “The library will use the books we contributed during their bi-annual used-book sale. We hope our donation helps and we are happy to have been part of this.”
- GLCU’s Waukegan team contributed to COOL Food Pantry. The COOL Food Pantries bring in more than 4,000 individuals who need food every month.
- Oak Lawn employees provided lunch for three local Fire Departments. Nicholas Mager, Oak Lawn Branch Manager, explained, “It was so much fun to visit each station. We thanked them on behalf of GLCU for their heroism in the community.”
- Chicago branch donated backpacks filled with everyday necessities to the Illinois Backpack Drive benefiting victims of human trafficking. Marilyn Kolodziej, Chicago Branch Manager, said, “They really appreciated the backpacks we gave them. I am so glad we were able to help such a worthwhile cause”.
