DULUTH, Ga.–The holidays were a little brighter for children in foster care thanks to the generous donations made to Georgia United Foundation’s 29th annual Wish Tree program. Donations collected at Georgia United Credit Union branch locations provided 2,470 gifts to children in the foster care system in 10 Georgia counties.
“The Wish Tree program brings excitement to our communities each year,” said Georgia United Chief Marketing Officer Aaron Chestnut. “It’s a wonderful way to show deserving children that people care for their wellbeing and are wishing them a happy holiday. We are honored to host and take part in this event that helps to strengthen our community.”
Since the start of the program, over 23,400 gifts have been donated to children in the foster care system through the local Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), and other similar charitable organizations.
