DULUTH, Ga.– Georgia United Credit Union has appointment Janis W. Johnson general counsel.
In this role, which reports to Georgia United Chief Financial Officer Bob Bogart, Johnson is primary legal counsel and oversees the credit union’s legal and business matters. Her responsibilities include providing direct legal advice and support to the executive leadership team, business units and other support centers and advancing the interests of the credit union, its operations and most importantly, its 150,000-plus members.
Johnson is a well-regarded legal executive with extensive experience in the financial services industry, and her impressive career also includes a stint as one of South Carolina’s Assistant Attorney Generals in the late 1990s.
Establishing in-house legal counsel is a key component of Georgia United’s growth strategy.
