POOLER, Ga.– Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the 5thAnnual Hearts for Heroes Red Tie Gala, benefitting the families of fallen police and fire personnel.
“Our first responders risk their lives to help our community when there’s a crisis,” said Georgia Heritage FCU CEO and President Dale Taratuta. “At Georgia Heritage, we are honored to do our part to help the families of these local heroes in their time of crisis.”
Each year, the Pooler Chamber of Commerce’s Hearts for Heroes Gala raises money for a deserving local organization with a night of dining, dancing and bidding. This year’s event, scheduled to take place at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force on Feb. 16, will benefit The 200 Club of the Coastal Empire.
The 200 Club provides immediate and life-long monetary assistance to the families of emergency personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty. To date, this 501(c)3 organization has provided more than $2 million to families.
“At Georgia Heritage, we see it as our mission to make a positive difference for our members and for the communities we serve,” Taratuta said. “Our first responders and the families who stand behind them are such an important part of our community – we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to show our appreciation.”
Not only will Georgia Heritage serve as a key contributor for the gala, the credit union will also sponsor an item for the silent auction portion of the evening.
