ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.—The CrossState Credit Union Foundation has appointed Michael Powers, president and CEO of Garden Savings Federal Credit Union, as chair of its board of directors. The foundation supports financial education and community impact initiatives across the region through scholarships, grants and outreach programs.
Foundation Executive Director Sue Ward-Diorio said Powers brings extensive experience in the credit union movement and will help guide the organization’s efforts to support credit unions and the communities they serve.
Powers said he looks forward to working with credit unions and their members to expand programs that promote financial literacy and community development, adding that the appointment provides an opportunity to further the foundation’s mission of strengthening communities through cooperative action.
