BISMARCK, N.D.–Deb Gallagher has been appointed by North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple to a five-year term on the North Dakota State Credit Union Board effective July 1, 2016.
Gallagher has been the President/CEO of Capital Credit Union in Bismarck, ND since 1994, and began her career in the credit union industry at Capital CU in 1974. She is a member of the Credit Union Executive Society and served as a director for the Midwest Corporate Federal Credit Union for fifteen years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration; a Masters in Management; and is a 1992 graduate of CUNA Management School. Gallagher also earned her Certified Credit Union Executive designation in 1995 and received her Certified Chief Executive designation in 2011 from the Credit Union Executive Society in partnership with Wharton, Cornell and the University of Virginia.
The North Dakota State Credit Union Board consists of the Commissioner of the Department of Financial Institutions and four members appointed by the Governor. Three members of the Board must be individuals with at least five years of experience as an officer, director, or committee member of a North Dakota state-chartered credit union and one member of the Board must be a lay member from the public at large. The State Credit Union Board has the power to adopt rules for the government of credit unions and may make and enforce such orders as are necessary to protect the public and the members of state-chartered credit unions. Gallagher joins current board members Paul Brucker, President, Railway Credit Union, Mandan; Melanie Stillwell, President, Western Cooperative Credit Union, Williston; and George Economon, lay member, Fargo, as members of the State Credit Union Board.
