TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial held ts Annual Scholarship Scramble Golf Tournament to raise money to support students all over Tampa Bay. Every year this event raises money to allow GTE Financial to award 50 students with $2,500 scholarships. GTE Financial said it chooses scholarship winners each year based on criteria that include academic achievement, demonstration of leadership abilities, and commitment to community service. Each student is awarded their $2,500 scholarship during a special awards luncheon.
