GTE Financial Wins Mastercard Award

TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial Credit Union announced Mastercard has awarded the company its 2019 Community Institutions Doing Well by Doing Good award for its continued philanthropic efforts in the Tampa Bay area. 

During 2018, the credit union donated over $610,000 and 4,400 volunteer hours to charities, helping more than a dozen non‐profits in the process.

“We are thrilled to be recognized for giving back to our local community. At GTE Financial, we believe philanthropy is a responsibility and a privilege,” said Brian Best, president and CEO of GTE Financial. “Our philanthropic efforts are integral to our mission and purpose here in Tampa Bay. This award represents the charities that we have been able to support, thanks to the contributions of our employees and members.” 

GTE Financial was among several companies being recognized for their hard work and dedication to their local community.

This award was presented at the Mastercard Executive Round Table in New York City. This meeting is designed to engage their c‐suite level customers, discuss innovation, regulatory issues, technology and branding.

GTE Financial said it is committed to enhancing the lives of those in the communities they serve. Helping many nonprofit organizations including Southeastern Guide Dogs, Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, Tighten the Drag Foundation, YMCA, Life Link, Trinity Café, Boys & Girls Club, Eckerd Connects, A Brighter Community, American Heart Association, Wheels of Success and Make Hope Real Project.
