GTE Financial Honored With Workplace Health Achievement Award

TAMPA– GTE Financial Credit Union has achieved Gold Level recognition from the American Heart Association 2019 Workplace Health Achievement Index for the second year in a row. The honor is the highest status that the American Heart Association can rank an organization for its company health culture.

GTE Financial said it firmly believes its employees drive the success of the organization. GTE Financial leadership strives to create an environment that offers a healthy work culture that is stimulating and financially rewarding. They have created a workplace where diverse ideas are met with enthusiasm, and where their employees can learn and grow to their full potential.

The American Heart Association allows organizations to qualify for Gold, Silver and Bronze level recognition, based on total Index score. The Workplace Health Achievement Index was called for and tested by the American Heart Association’s CEO Roundtable to provide employers with best practices to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of workplace health programs.

Companies receive benchmarking reports that allow them to identify potential areas of improvement for them to advance their annual performance and help their workforce move toward ideal heart health.

“We provide our employees with a robust employee benefits package that includes wellness time off; tracking apps for wellness goals, and free mammograms, among other health-related perks. Also, we have developed a workplace that is both professional and fun for our employees’ everyday satisfaction,” said Brian Best, president and CEO of GTE Financial.

The organization has established a one of a kind Monthly Charities Program that provides employees the opportunity to work with charities close to their hearts.

GTE Financial said it also offers 24/7 access to a state-of-the-art gym, a ping pong room, and a modern café with vending machines and a smoothie bar. They also have an onsite get-lean park that has a 1/4-mile track with exercise stations and basketball court, and their galleria houses video games and even a pool table for some entertainment.
