TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial Credit Union, in partnership with Wheels of Success, presented a car to a victim of human trafficking.
Wheels of Success and GTE Financial presented a low mileage 2001 Honda Civic to Crystal. Crystal is currently in a residential program for young girls that are victims of human trafficking. For Crystal, the bus she takes to work each day drives through her old neighborhood, which is full of prostitutes, drugs and horrific memories of her abuse, the credit union said. Her position with a local florist, Artistic Florist of Tampa Bay, working with many large clients such as the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is life-changing for her. By Crystal receiving the vehicle, she will be promoted at her job and will be able to drive away from her past as a human trafficking victim.
