TAMPA, Fla.–With nearly 41,000 Hispanic members, GTE Financial said it is proud to serve the ever-growing Hispanic community in Tampa Bay.
“Supporting the Hispanic community is a commitment they satisfy in part by making it easier than ever to connect with the credit union,” GTE Financial said.
To accomplish that goal, GTE said it recently launched six new applications on its website entirely in Spanish. With 56% of its Hispanic members preferring communication in Spanish, they can now complete applications such as new membership, credit card, auto loan, and more in their preferred language.
“The Hispanic community has contributed immensely to what the Tampa Bay area is today,” said AVP-Multicultural Inclusion strategy Cynthia Colón. “As the Hispanic population continues to grow, we are committed to offering services that will help our Spanish-speaking members navigate their preferred language and create the best member experience possible.”
Based on a positive member experience, GTE said it maintains its mission to listen to its members and provide seamless and straightforward service.
“Not only are 35% of GTE employees bilingual, but most of the 23 community financial centers in Tampa Bay have bilingual employees on site,” the credit union reported. “In 2020 alone, GTE Financial welcomed 4,300 new Hispanic members making its membership base 19% Hispanic. GTE Financial has much more in the pipeline to further its Hispanic initiative in the near future, including a newly designed online banking tool offered in Spanish.”
