TAMPA, Fla.–Employees at GTE Financial each received a $25 gift card to make a difference through a charitable donation or to support a local restaurant or small business as part of the industry-wide initiative #CreditUnionsCareChallenge.
GTE Financial said it didn't want to stop its impact there. For participating, each credit union receives matching funds from the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation, which GTE Financial decided to put that money back into the community as well, by donating the matching funds to St. Vincent de Paul CARES -- a local institution that fights homelessness in Tampa Bay. The CU presented St. Vincent de Paul CARES with $12,000 divided between their St. Petersburg and Temple Terrace locations.
