TAMPA, Fla.--GTE Financial announced one new promotion and two new additions to its leadership team.
Pedro Diaz is joining the credit union as the new Chief Experience Officer, Jennifer Maxfield is being promoted to Chief Strategy Officer, and Gary Montemurro will also be joining the group as the new VP of Project and Program Management. These executives bring over 45 years of combined experience to the credit union.

Diaz will be taking on the role as the new Chief Experience Officer for the credit union. He is bringing over 20 years of experience in Sales and Service to GTE Financial. Diaz previously held the position of Senior Vice President, serving in various roles at one of the largest banking institutions in the nation. He managed their Consumer & Small Business Banking Services and oversaw 163 Financial Centers throughout Florida. As the Chief Experience Officer, Diaz will be strategically planning and setting goals for sales performance and management, growing market share, increasing profitability and identifying market opportunities.
Maxfield has worked with GTE Financial for more than eight years and has held several positions within Marketing, including the latest as Vice President of Marketing & Products, where she has led the marketing team in expanding the credit union’s brand throughout the Tampa Bay area and within the credit union industry. In her new role as Chief Strategy Officer, Maxfield will be leading GTE’s strategic initiatives which include overseeing the strategic planning process, and the management of GTE’s Credit Union Service Organizations and subsidiaries. She will also be responsible for the credit union’s community engagement team, business continuity, and real estate.
Montemurro will be joining the credit union as the new Vice President of Project and Program Management. He brings 20 years of experience from Verizon Communications where he held senior-level positions focused on process improvements and gaining efficiencies within different business units. During his time at Verizon Communications, he oversaw a team responsible for driving improvements that were able to recover over $20M of revenue annually. In his new role, he will oversee the project management team and work closely with different business unit leaders to help link the credit union’s strategy to projects and programs to ensure the enterprise invests in the areas that will realize the most significant value.
